About DentCheck
Millions of Canadians don't know what dental coverage they qualify for. The programs exist, the federal Canadian Dental Care Plan, provincial and territorial assistance programs, coverage for specific groups, but they're scattered across dozens of government pages, written in policy language, and almost impossible to compare side by side. People who are eligible for free or low-cost dental care often don't claim it, simply because finding out is too hard.
DentCheck exists to close that gap. Answer a few plain questions about your situation, and the tool tells you which programs you likely qualify for, how they work together, and roughly what you can expect to pay.
How it works
DentCheck checks your answers against the eligibility rules for federal, provincial, and territorial dental programs. Where programs coordinate (for example, the CDCP billed first and a provincial program covering remaining costs), the tool explains the order and what it means for your out-of-pocket cost. Where they don't coordinate, it shows your options so you can choose.
Where the information comes from
Every eligibility rule is checked against primary government sources, the official program pages and coordination fact sheets published by federal, provincial, and territorial authorities. Fee estimates use the 2026 Canadian Dental Care Plan fee schedule, adjusted for typical provincial pricing. For British Columbia and Alberta, official provincial fee guide data is used where available.
Important
DentCheck is an independent informational tool. It is not affiliated with the Government of Canada, any provincial or territorial government, or any dental program. It gives estimates and guidance to help you understand your options, not official determinations. Always confirm your eligibility and coverage directly with the program and your dental provider before treatment.
DentCheck was built independently by Jerry Yin and Anna Tikhonova.
